Unidentified Youth’s Body Recovered from Kharkai River at Baroda Ghat Bagbera

Bagbera police recovered an unidentified 28-year-old man’s body from Baroda Ghat, Kharkai river, Jamshedpur, sparking local concern.

JAMSHEDPUR – An unidentified youth’s body was discovered floating in the Kharkai river at Baroda Ghat, under the jurisdiction of the Bagbera police station, causing a sensation in the area.

The body, estimated to be around 28 years old, was promptly reported to the police by local people, who took custody of the body and initiated an investigation.

Unexpected Discovery and Investigation

Station-in-charge KK Jha stated that preliminary assumptions suggest the young man might have drowned while bathing in the river. “The investigation is ongoing and the body has been sent for a postmortem,” Jha explained. The unidentified youth was found wearing jeans and a t-shirt, which has led to speculations that the drowning could have been caused by something other than bathing.

Dangerous Shortcut Claims Lives

Officer-in-charge Koislendra Jha of Bagbera police station initially suggested that the young man could have been bathing at the river ghat.

He later surmised that the victim might have drowned while crossing the cemented path that connects Adityapur to Bagbera, a route known for its slipperiness, especially during monsoon rains. “The youth must have slipped and fallen into the river while walking on the slippery path and drowned,” said Jha.

Frequent Drowning Incidents at Baroda Ghat

The officer-in-charge further highlighted that drowning incidents are a regular occurrence at this particular location of the Baroda Ghat. Despite the risks, many people continue to use this shortcut, endangering their lives.
