People working in Jamshedpur have been leaving the city in droves over the last two days, with buses and vehicles packed with individuals returning to their communities. Political candidates have played a role in facilitating transportation for voters

JAMSHEDPUR – As West Bengal prepares for the single-round panchayat elections on July 8, a significant increase in voter turnout is anticipated.

Residents of West Bengal working in Jamshedpur have been leaving the city in large numbers over the past two days.

Buses, trucks, and vehicles passing through the Patmada region have been crowded with people returning to their communities, including hawkers, hotel workers, and individuals from various occupations.

Many have reportedly booked buses with the transportation costs being covered by political candidates.

Candidates from different parties have conducted public relations campaigns in Jamshedpur, and it was agreed that people would go to the polls upon payment of the required transportation fee. Despite this, the governing party has fielded a strong roster of candidates.

On Friday, three buses carrying around 180 passengers departed from Sakchi to Purulia at a cost of 30,000 rupees each. Hotel workers and employees from Patmada and Bodam towns have also returned to their hometowns.
