Tata Steel’s Inter JDC Table Tennis Tournament Concludes with Great Success

A two-day Inter JDC Table Tennis Tournament by Tata Steel’s Sports Department concluded, showcasing excellent skill, sportsmanship, and promoting camaraderie among its workforce.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department has successfully organized and concluded the Inter Joint Department Council (JDC) Table Tennis Tournament.

Held from July 3-4, 2023, the championship took place at the Table Tennis Training Centre, part of the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Championing Sportsmanship

The tournament witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 25 JDC teams from Tata Steel.

More than 100 players demonstrated their skills and sportsmanship in the fiercely competitive games.

The team from Corporate Services emerged victorious, showing impressive determination and talent, while the Supply Chain team secured the runner-up position.

The Tubes Division team stood third in the championship.

Fair Play and Professionalism

To maintain fair play and adherence to the game’s rules, the championship was overseen by a panel of expert technical officials.

Among them were Apurva Das Gupta, Sudhanshu Ranjan, L N Mitra, and P R Teja, who performed their roles to perfection.

Promoting Camaraderie through Sports

Tata Steel’s commitment to fostering sports and promoting a sense of camaraderie among its employees was evident throughout the championship.

The event offered an excellent platform for the workforce to display their table tennis skills and encouraged a healthy competitive spirit.
