Tata Steel Hosts Inter Divisional Table Tennis Tournament, General Office Emerges as Winner

Tata Steel’s sports department organized a successful Inter Divisional Table Tennis Tournament, with General Office taking the championship title.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department recently held a successful Inter Divisional Table Tennis Tournament from July 12-14, 2023, at the Table Tennis training Centre within the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The opening ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including Keshari Kumar, Chief Integrated Planning and Services, Tata Steel, and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports Excellence Centre Jamshedpur, Tata Steel.

The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from 28 teams representing 16 Units of Tata Steel, with over 115 players showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.

After intense competition, the team from General Office emerged as the winners, demonstrating both prowess and determination.

West Bokaro came in second, earning the runner-up position, with the Supply Chain team securing the 2nd runner’s up spot.

To maintain fair play and strict adherence to the rules, the tournament leveraged the expertise of respected technical officials.

These included Ujjal Chatterjee, Sudhanshu Ranjan, L N Mitra, Vaibhav, Karan Raj, and P L Teja, who admirably carried out their responsibilities.

Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to promoting sports and fostering camaraderie among its workforce was prominent throughout the championship.

This event not only offered an excellent platform for employees to display their table tennis skills but also nurtured a healthy competitive spirit.
