Elderly mother of Tata Motors DGM suffers a brazen snatching in Jamshedpur’s Aastha Twin City.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a bold incident on Monday, Urmila Devi, the 65-year-old mother of Neeraj Kumar Verma, Deputy General Manager of Tata Motors, was subject to a robbery in Birsanagar.
Devi was taking her morning walk around the Twin City park when the crime unfolded.
As she returned from the park adjacent to Gate No.1, the tranquility of the morning was shattered.
Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle approached her.
In a swift, alarming sequence, they snatched her gold chain and locket, before speeding away from the scene.
A formal complaint has since been lodged at the Birsanagar police station regarding the incident.
The perpetrators of the crime, which has sent shockwaves through the Aastha Twin City community where the victim resides, are yet to be identified.
