CPR Training at Tarapore School Imparts Life-Saving Skills to Students and Staff

Students and staff at Tarapore School gain critical life-saving skills through a comprehensive CPR training session.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a move demonstrating its commitment to raising well-informed, conscientious citizens, Tarapore School concluded a comprehensive CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training programme. The session underscored the significance of health education in classrooms and positioned students and staff as vital first responders during emergencies.

The programme, carried out under the expert guidance of Dr. Prabal Kumar Ghosh and his team including Shekhar Rajak, Md. Shish, Rakesh Kumar, Ganesh Ravi Das, Pratima Kumari, Jamuna Patro, Pintu, and Madha Tanti, was highly interactive.

Both students and teachers showed keen participation in the practical demonstration of CPR techniques, adding an experiential layer to the training.

A key highlight of the session was an automated external defibrillator (AED) demonstration led by the Tata Steel Foundation under the aegis of Dr. Ghosh and his colleagues.

The overall focus of the CPR training programme was to equip students and teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond promptly and accurately in emergencies.

Particular emphasis was laid on the life-sustaining role of CPR procedures until professional medical help arrives, reinforcing the need for swift and confident action during crucial times.

The instructive session, held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, in the school auditorium, was attended by Std. XII students, teachers, and staff, marking an important stride towards enhancing health and safety measures in the school.
