DC Vijaya Jadhav Calls for Monitoring Kishori Samriddhi Yojana Beneficiaries
Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav insists on stringent scrutiny and monitoring of Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana beneficiaries to ensure continuation of their education.
JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has given clear directives regarding the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana.
If girls benefiting from the scheme abandon their studies, the officials and employees of the education department will be held accountable.
Jadhav emphasized that all the beneficiaries should exclusively use this money for their education.
She has instructed all the Principals and BEOs to meticulously review the applications and send them to the CDPO to prevent any errors and ensure the funds reach the girl students’ bank accounts.
She issued these orders during a review of the progress of the scheme in the district at the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday.
The Jharkhand government initiated the Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana to facilitate girl students’ education in the state, providing a total grant of Rs 40,000 to girls aged eight to 19 years.
The scheme aims to further the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign and curb child marriage.
The scheme provides different amounts at various education stages, culminating in a lump sum of Rs 20,000 upon reaching 18-19 years of age.
In the financial year 2022-23, 41,658 girl students in the district benefited from the scheme.
For 2023-24, Jadhav has ordered an extensive awareness campaign in all government schools and colleges to ensure 100 percent eligible girls in the district benefit from this scheme.
He insisted that forms should be distributed to girl students when they move to the next class and ensure ample availability of forms in schools and colleges.
