Tanveer Akhtar, Wanted in Model Manvi Raj Case, Brought to Ranchi

Absconding accused Tanveer Akhtar, linked to model Manvi Raj’s case, has been brought from Araria to Ranchi for trial.

RANCHI – Tanveer Akhtar, also known as Yash, was arrested late Wednesday night in Araria, Bihar.

He is charged with the rape and love jihad of model Manvi Raj, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar.

He is accused of hiding his real identity and sexually assaulting the model in inebriated state adn also promising a modeling career. He has now been brought to Ranchi for trial.

Tanveer, a resident of Yunush Chowk, falls under the jurisdiction of the Doranda police station area in Ranchi.

He also runs an institute named Yash Model on Kanke Road, Ranchi.

The model claimed that she met him during a modeling class.

The model from Bhagalpur accused him of rape and forced religious conversion.

She claimed that after protesting, the accused began blackmailing her with explicit photos.

Exhausted from Tanveer’s harassment, the girl lodged a complaint at the Versova police station in Mumbai on May 29, 2023.

A Zero FIR was lodged, and the Ranchi police began investigating the case.

A medical examination of the victim was also conducted at a Ranchi hospital.

After the incident, the accused Tanveer went into hiding, leading Ranchi police to raid possible hideouts.

With the help of Bihar police, the Ranchi police arrested Tanveer in Araria district.

During his court appearance, Tanveer Akhtar declared his innocence, labeling all accusations against him as part of a conspiracy.
