Jamshedpur Murder Case: Four Accused Arrested in Strangulation of Man Amidst Extramarital Affair

Four individuals, including a woman, have been arrested by the police for allegedly murdering a man over a suspected extramarital affair. The victim’s body was discovered on June 7, with hands bound, in Meghasai under Potka police station, East Singhbhum.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking case of suspected contract killing, four people, including a woman, have been arrested by the police in East Singhbhum district.

The suspects are accused of murdering Mohan Gaddi alias Sadaqat, a resident of Jugsalai.

His strangled body was found with tied hands in Meghasai under the jurisdiction of Potka police station on June 7.

Extramarital Affair Ends in Tragedy

In a shocking incident that unfolded on June 7 in Meghasai under Potka police station of East Singhbhum, a resident of Jugsalai, Mohan Gaddi alias Sadaqat, was brutally strangled to death. A grim discovery was made when Mohan’s body was found with his hands tied. Investigations led by the police revealed an alleged extramarital affair between Mohan and V. Devi, a married woman.

The Arrest: Four Accused Captured

Moving quickly on the case, the police made four arrests in connection with Mohan’s murder. The accused include Mintu Sao, a resident of Bagbeda Naya Basti, his wife V. Devi, Keertiwas Kavarto alias Dadu, a resident of Bengali Basa, Kovali, and Sikander Kumar, a resident of LBSM College Road.

All four were taken into custody, and key pieces of evidence, including the murder weapon – a clutch wire, a saree and a blouse found near Mohan’s body, three bikes used in the incident, and Rs 3200 found at the crime scene, were recovered.

Unraveling the Motive: A Contract Kill?

Further investigation painted a grisly picture of premeditated murder. The rural SP, Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, disclosed that Mintu Sao, enraged upon discovering his wife V.’s illicit relationship with Mohan, had arranged for Mohan’s murder.

The contract was allegedly given to Kirtivas for a sum of Rs. 70,000, with an advance of Rs. 20,000.

Despite multiple attempts to execute the murder, it wasn’t until the night of June 6 that the plan was tragically successful. Mohan was lured to Potka under the pretext of drinking alcohol, and later murdered.

Efforts to Mislead Investigation: A Failed Attempt at Cover-Up

The perpetrators attempted to misdirect the investigation by making the murder appear as an outcome of an illicit affair.

The suspects left a pre-bought saree and blouse near Mohan’s body to give the illusion of a female involvement. They also destroyed Sadaqat’s mobile phone to conceal evidence.

Despite these efforts, the police managed to apprehend the culprits and have since sent them to jail.

The course of justice is now awaited as the case continues.
