ADITYAPUR – The RIT police station in Seraikela Kharsawan district has successfully thwarted a murder plot, arresting two notorious criminals, Raja Singh alias Raju Pagla and Prakash Gop alias Chhotu Gop, who aimed to kill Murari Singh, an accused in the high-profile Ravi Sharma murder case.
SP Manish Toppo revealed that the arrest followed a tip-off about Raja Singh’s escape from RIMS on March 24 and his suspicious activities in the RIT police station area with an intention to commit a significant crime.
Armed with a country-made pistol and live ammunition, the duo was apprehended by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by SDPO, during a raid conducted on the banks of the Kharkai river near Munna Sharma’s brick kiln in Kullu Patanga.
Upon interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed their intent to assassinate Murari Singh, residing in the RIT Transport Colony and currently out on bail for his involvement in the Adityapur Ravi Sharma murder case.
SP Toppo noted that Raja Singh, known as Raju Pagla, has a history of criminal activities in various locations including Jamshedpur, Seraikela, and Ranchi’s Bariatu, while Prakash Gop, also known as Chhotu Gop, faces charges under the Arms Act and other cases at the RIT police station.
The police’s proactive approach and the successful operation underscore the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and prevent violence within the community.
