A security breach occurred at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences as prisoner Shyam Kishore Chaudhary escaped from the surgery ward while handcuffed.
RANCHI – A security breach occurred at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences as prisoner Shyam Kishore Chaudhary escaped from the surgery ward while handcuffed.
Ranchi Police have alerted Palamau District Police to closely watch Chaudhary’s movements after he reportedly returned to his village.
Following his escape, an investigation was launched by Bariatu police upon a complaint from the guards responsible for Chaudhary.
Security personnel admitted to leaving their posts temporarily, which allowed Chaudhary the chance to flee.
Jeetlal Mahato left to get medicine, and Shanicharva Oraon stepped away briefly early in the morning, each leaving the prisoner unattended.
Chaudhary, originally held under strict security, managed to free himself from handcuffs during this lapse.
After undergoing stomach surgery for swallowing a nail, he was moved from the prisoner to the surgery ward for recovery.
The escape incident occurred shortly after Shyam Kishore Chaudhary was transferred for medical care from Daltonganj Sadar Hospital.
