Two, Including Woman, Arrested in Jamshedpur for Ganja Smuggling Operation

Chandil police apprehends a woman and a man linked to ganja smuggling, unearthing a larger network of illicit trade in the region.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, the police have arrested a man and a woman suspected of engaging in ganja smuggling in the Kapali region of Kharsawan district, Jamshedpur.

The arrest was executed following an anti-crime checking operation near Kapali’s Albela Garden Pulia.

Chandil Inspector Pascal Toppo, during a press conference at the Kapali OP, narrated the events leading up to the arrest. He described how a black scooty, bearing the number JH05DC – 2140, aroused police suspicion when it hastily retreated upon spotting the police officers.

Acting on this behavior, the officers intercepted the vehicle and proceeded to question its occupants.

The individuals, who identified themselves as S Nigar and Mohammad P, residents of Kapali Dangardih, were found in possession of 2 kg and 400 grams of ganja hidden in the scooty’s trunk.

Upon further interrogation, S Nigar revealed that she is originally from Jugsalai in Jamshedpur and has been living in a rented house in Kapali for the past four months.

In a startling revelation, she confessed that her husband is currently incarcerated for similar marijuana smuggling offenses.

The pair were promptly taken into custody and have since been remanded to judicial detention.
