Forest Department’s Action on Land Encroachment Stirs Adityapur
Shanti Nagar in Adityapur, Kharsawan district, experiences upheaval as the Forest Department takes stringent action against rampant land encroachments, stirring land mafias.
Adityapur – Adityapur, Kharsawan district, witnessed an upheaval among land mafias on Wednesday when the Forest Department initiated action against encroachments on its land in Shanti Nagar.
Amid strict security, the department carried out the operation using a JCB to demolish the unlawful constructions.
Rajan Kumar, Officer-In-Charge at Adityapur police station, stated that this action was taken following continuous complaints received by senior officials.
He assured that the police would extend support to any department combating encroachments on government or Forest Department lands. We will not allow encroachment of government land at any cost,” Kumar declared.
However, the campaign had to halt midway due to adverse weather conditions. The Forest Department officials, for the time being, chose to remain silent on the matter.
It’s noteworthy that the Shanti Nagar area is witnessing large-scale encroachment on the Forest Department’s land.
Wednesday’s action appears to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Forest department sources said that with comprehensive action, hundreds of hectares of land could potentially be freed from encroachment, reinstating the region’s peace and tranquility.
