Half a Dozen Shops Gutted in Adityapur Gamharia Market Fire

ADITYAPUR – A devastating fire engulfed half a dozen shops in a market near Gamharia Lal Building Chowk within the Adityapur police station area, causing significant damage late on Saturday night.

It is believed that a short circuit was the cause of the fire, which mainly affected shops selling worship materials and groceries.

The fire started around 1:00 am, prompting a rapid response from the local fire department. Arriving on the scene, the firefighters managed to control the blaze after approximately two hours of intense effort. Panic spread through the market as news of the fire spread, with shopkeepers and residents fearing for their livelihoods and safety.

Preliminary estimates suggest that the fire caused a loss of about eight to nine lakhs, significantly impacting the shop owners and the local economy.

The incident highlights the importance of electrical safety and fire prevention measures in crowded commercial areas like Gamharia market.
