Police Arrest Six in Jamshedpur Court and Golmuri Firing Incidents; Seize Firearms and Bikes

March 27 firings were done in retaliation of Manpreet Singh murder, 3 more accused still on the run: City SP

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur police have successfully cracked the cases relating to firing at Jamshedpur Court gate and Tinplate area in Golmuri on March 27 last. The police have arrested a total of six criminals in this case and have sent them to jail.

According to the City SP K Vijay Shankar the six accused who have been arrested include Vicky Singh, Aman Kumar Singh, Raj Paswan, Manish Kumar, Vicky Tiwari, and Goldie Singh.

The City SP said that two country-made handguns, one country-made pistol, three live rounds, and five motorbikes have been seized from their possession.

The City SP said that as per facts that came to light during investigations, the six people detained were responsible for the shootings carried out in retaliation for the killing of Manpreet Singh a year ago.

He said that Manpreet Singh was allegedly shot dead by Navin Singh and his accomplices and the Jamshedpur court gate firing was done in retaliation.

According to the police, three more accused are still at large.

Raids are on to apprehend them, the City SP added.

The arrest of six accused in the Jamshedpur court firing case is being seen as a major achievement for the city police as the incident as well as the subsequent firing at Tinplate area in Golmuri on the same day had caused concern about deterioration in law and order in the city.

However, with the arrest of six accused, the police are hoping that other absconding accused too would be apprehended.
