Jamshedpur: The dead body of Sagar Sona, who resided in the Vidyapati Nagar neighbourhood under the jurisdiction of the Sidhgora police station and was missing since Tuesday night, was found in the Swarnarekha river in Sidhgora. Three persons, including 2 of his friends, have been arrested for killing him and disposing his body in the river.

According to the mother of the deceased, since Tuesday evening, Sagar had been missing.

His mother Kanti Devi reported him missing on Wednesday night after he did not return, which prompted the police to interrogate Sagar’s friends after taking them into custody.

The cops also detained and questioned another youth and interrogated him. He admitted to having murdered Sagar and dumped his body in the river.

Later, Sagar’s corpse was found in Subarnarekha river, where it had been fastened to a stone after being bound at the hands and feet.

The youths who were arrested told the police that Sagar often snatched money from them. Tuesday night, they came upon him when he was alone, and a fight broke out, during which Sagar fell down.

He was taken to the riverside, where his body was taken in a boat to the middle of the river, attached to a stone, and dumped.

The police deployed search teams, which finally located the dead body from the middle of the river.
