Truck hits police patrol jeep, SI dies, 5 jawans injured in Giridih

A truck hit a police jeep in Giridih killing one SI on the spot and injuring 5 jawans.

Ranchi: In a tragic news, a truck has hit a stationary police patrolling jeep in Giridih killing a sub-inspector instantly and injuring at least 5 jawans.

According to reports being received from Giridih, a cylinder-loaded truck rammed into a parked patrol jeep from behind near Bengabad Chowk here.

In this accident, SI Vinay Hansda (27) of Bangabad police station died on the spot. On the other hand, five jawans including driver Sanjay were seriously injured. All the injured are undergoing treatment.

The cylinder loaded truck has been confiscated by the police and the truck driver has been arrested by the police. The accident is said to have happened around 11 pm on Saturday.

According to reports the cylinder-laded truck was coming towards Giridih from Madhupur side. The police jeep was parked near Bangabad Chowk for patrolling.

Reports say the truck hit the parked jeep from behind. Apart from SI Vinay Hansda of the police station in the jeep, the driver of the jeep, Sanjay and constables Naveen Singh, Nagendra Kumar were also inside jeep.

While SI Vinay Hansda died on the spot, five jawans including the driver of the jeep were injured.
