Jamshedpur police arrest 2 mobile snatchers, recover 62 stolen mobile phones
Jamshedpur: In a major success, Jamshedpur police have arrested two members of a mobile snatching gang with 62 stolen mobile phones. Both the accused are stated to be members of a Sahibganj-based mobile-snatcher gang.
In the same manner as Jamtara district of Jharkhand is famous for its cyber crimes, Raj Mahal area of Sahibganj district of Jharkhand is known for its mobile snatchers.
According to the police sources, a youth named Kapoor Kumar was taken into custody by the Sakchi police on Monday last based on suspicions. Three stolen mobile phones were found in his possession. After interrogating him, the police were able to find 62 more mobile phones from his possession.
During interrogation, the police got information about another member of the gang, and arrested him. He has been named by the police as Dipankar Ghosh.
The City ASP Kumar Gaurav said that both the arrested accused have accepted their involvement in the mobile snatching incidents in the city and adjoining areas.
These two arrests and recovery of so many stolen mobile phones are being seen as a major achievement for the city police.
