Two ASIs and Clerk Suspended for Extortion at Gudabandha Police Station
Three police personnel suspended for assaulting a man and extorting money at Gudabandha police station.
East Singhbhum district SSP Kishore Kaushal has suspended two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and a clerk from Gudabandha police station after allegations of assault and extortion were confirmed.
JAMSHEDPUR – Two ASIs and a clerk from Gudabandha police station have been suspended by East Singhbhum district SSP Kishore Kaushal.
The suspended personnel are ASI Ajay Singh, ASI Jitendra Kumar, and clerk Muni Kumar.
Subhash Bera, a resident of Banamakdi, accused the officers of calling him to the police station on July 15, beating him, and demanding Rs 35,000 from his family for his release.
The incident reached Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and former MLA Kunal Sarangi, who informed SSP Kishore Kaushal about the incident.
Taking the matter seriously, SSP Kaushal ordered an inquiry led by DSP.
Based on the investigation report, the SSP decided to suspend the three accused personnel.
