BJP workers hit streets against provision of Namaz Room in Assembly Building, burn effigy

A large number of BJP workers protested the decision to allocate namaz room in Assembly Building. Mahanagar BJP president demanded that similar provisions be made for people of other faiths too.

Jamshedpur: Hundreds of BJP workers today took to streets and burnt the effigy of Hemant Soren government in Sakchi to protest the decision of the government to allocate a Namaz Room in the Jharkhand Assembly building. The protest was organised by the Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of BJP.

The BJP workers led by Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav also shouted slogans against the Hemant Soren Government.

Later, Gunjan Yadav, while talking to media persons said that Legislature is a temple of democracy and equality is the mainstay of constitutional democracy. He said that if a separate room is allocated to a particular section of MLAs and employees on religion basis then space should be allocated to those belonging to other religions.

He termed the decision as undemocratic and said that the Hemant Soren government and the Speaker should immediately withdraw the decision. He warned that if the decision is not withdrawn, his party and the party workers would continue their agitation and would further intensify it.

Gunjan Yadav, expressing deep objection to the decision, demanded a separate room for reading Hanuman Chalisa and allotment of space for the construction of the temple.

He said that such a Tughlaqi decree has been issued for the first time in the state. He said that this is just an attempt to indulge in politics of appeasement and vote bank.

He said that instead of working on the real issues, the Hemant government of the state wants to give rise to the politics of discrimination in Jharkhand.

Gunjan Yadav demanded separate rooms for different religions so that legislators of different religions like Sarna, Hindu, Sikh, Jain etc. can worship in that room during the sessions.

He said that BJP strongly opposes this Tughlaqi decision and will work to wake up the government by conducting phased agitation till such undemocratic and unconstitutional decision is withdrawn.

He said that an effigy of the state government has been burnt on Sunday. On Monday, a dharna and demonstration would be organised at the district headquarters. A day after that the Assembly would be gheraoed and a march to Raj Bhavan would be held. He said that if even after this the order is not withdrawn, his party would further intensify the agitation.

Those who participated in the protest included BJP state secretary Rita Mishra, former District President Rambabu Tiwari, State Working Committee member Rajan Singh, District Vice President Sanjeev Sinha, Sudhanshu Ojha, General Secretary Rakesh Singh, Anil Modi, Media in-charge Prem Jha, Social Media in-charge Binod Singh, IT Cell in-charge Narayan Poddar, Mani Mohanty, Kostav Rai, BJYM District President Amit Agarwal, Kisan Morcha District President Muchiram Bauri, Scheduled Caste Morcha President Ajit Kalandi and Metropolitan Circle President Chanchal Chakraborty, Tridev Chattraj, Sanjay Singh, Hannu Jain, Santosh Thakur, Suresh Sharma, Hemant Singh , Ajay Singh, Dhruv Mishra, Bablu Gop, Deepak Jha, Bajrangi Pandey, Pawan Singh, Binod Rai, Rajesh Singh, Sanjay Tiwari, Rakesh Lodhi, Shambhu Chaudhary and others.
