Corona claims 2 lives in Jharkhand, total deaths now 1016

Ranchi: While Corona has been generally on the decline in the state of Jharkhand, as well as elsewhere in the country, the total number of deaths is still increasing slowly. With 2 more deaths caused by coronavirus in the state on Thursday, the total death toll has now risen to 1016.

According to official data, the recovery rate for the state has hovered around 97.7% till Thursday, while the mortality rate is 0.89%, which can be described a tad better than that of the national mortality rate.

As per official data, the state has already tested 46,97,404 samples till date. Out of these, 1,13,786 samples have tested positive. The state, for now, has 1,595 active cases of virus infection. On the other hand, 1,11,195 have already recovered from the disease.

On Thursday itself, 177 new cases were detected across the state. 213 persons have been cured and discharged, while 2 deaths have been reported.

East Singhbhum is the worst-affected district of the state. However, for the last 16 days, East Singhbhum has reported zero deaths due to corona.
