Jharkhand Govt announces Unlock-3, Malls allowed to open from June 17

Shops to open till 4 p.m. in all districts, Shopping malls, departmental stores too may open, complete Weekend Lockdown to remain

Ranchi: Jharkhand government has decided to provide more relaxation in covid pandemic related restrictions imposed in the state after Unlock 2 restrictions come to an end on June 16. Under Unlock 3, all shops will be allowed to open till 4 p.m. and shopping malls and departmental stores too would be allowed to function.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren presided over the meeting of Disaster Management Authority held at Mantralaya today. A number of crucial decisions were taken in the meeting regarding lockdown.

The government has taken a decision to allow all shops to open in all districts till 4 p.m. Shopping malls and departmental stores too will be allowed to open from June 16. However, a Complete Lockdown would be observed from Saturday 4 p.m. till Monday 6 a.m. even during Unlock 3 period in the same way as it was observed last week in the entire state.

Important decisions taken in the meeting of the Disaster Management Authority are as follows:

  • All shops in all districts will be allowed to open till 4 pm.
  • Shopping malls and departmental stores will also be allowed to open.
  • All government and private offices will be able to open till 4 pm with 50% human resource.
  • All shops (including vegetable-fruits-grocery shops) will remain closed from 4 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. Health care establishments and milk stores will remain open.
  • Rest of the restrictions will continue as before.
  • Cinema halls, clubs, bars, banquet halls, multiplexes, will remain closed.
  • Stadiums, gymnasiums, swimming pools and parks will remain closed.
  • All educational institutions will remain closed.
  • Anganwadi centers will remain closed but food items will be provided to the beneficiaries at home.
  • There will be a ban on the gathering of more than 5 people.
  • A maximum of 11 persons can attend a marriage and a maximum of 20 persons can attend a funeral.
  • Religious places will remain closed for devotees.
  • Prohibition on procession will continue.
  • The ban on bus transport will continue.
  • The examinations conducted by the state will be postponed.
  • The ban on fair and exhibition will continue.
  • In order to go from one district to another by private vehicle, to come to Jharkhand from other state or to go from Jharkhand to other state, e-pass will be necessary.
  • Barring some exceptions, 7-day-home quarantine will be mandatory for those coming to Jharkhand from other states.
  • Wearing of mask in public place and maintaining social distance is mandatory.
  • In case of violation of the order, action will be taken by registering an FIR under the relevant section of the Disaster Management Act.
