PAKUR – A wild fox entered a village house in Pakur and killed an infant while injuring another child during a late-night attack.

The incident occurred in Lakhi Narayanpur village. The area falls under Taranagar Panchayat. Moreover, the village comes under Pakur Mufassil police station limits.

According to villagers, the animal entered the house during darkness. It attacked a two-month-old infant first. However, the family noticed the incident too late.

Meanwhile, the fox targeted another child inside the same house. The second child is reportedly around three years old. The child screamed loudly during the attack.

Family members woke up after hearing the cries. Moreover, they raised an alarm immediately. The wild animal fled the house after the commotion.

The injured child was rushed to Pakur Sadar Hospital. Doctors began treatment soon after arrival. Meanwhile, the condition of the injured child remains under observation.

Police officers visited the village after receiving information. Moreover, officials inspected the spot and started an investigation. Forest officials may also examine the incident later.

Villagers expressed fear after the deadly attack. Meanwhile, residents demanded increased monitoring near residential areas. Similar incidents occasionally emerge near forest-linked settlements during nighttime movement.

Authorities have advised villagers to remain alert during late hours. Moreover, families have been asked to secure doors properly at night.
