RAMGARH – Panic spread late Friday night after criminals opened fire at contractor Pappu Jain’s crusher in CCL Saunda, Ramgarh district.

According to local sources, around 10:30 p.m. four rounds of gunfire were heard near the crusher. The attackers, who came on motorcycles, fired shots in the air before fleeing. A pamphlet recovered from the scene indicated links to the Rahul Dubey gang.

The firing is suspected to be linked to an extortion attempt. Following the incident, police launched intensive checking and blockades across the OP area.

The attack also forced closure of CCL Saunda B siding, disrupting coal transportation operations. Authorities confirmed that the impact was felt on CCL’s transport activities.

Notably, the a gang was recently involved in a similar firing incident at the gate of an outsourcing company in Sayal. The repeated violence has heightened fears among contractors and put pressure on police.
