JAMSHEDPUR – A labour dispute involving Tata Power contract workers reached the DLC office after complaints over transfers and unpaid overtime wages.

A hearing took place at the DLC office on Saturday. The matter involved Tata Power contract workers. Moreover, workers challenged alleged wrongful transfers recently.

The dispute involved workers Pawan Kumar and Sanjeev Prasad. Meanwhile, workers also raised overtime payment concerns.

Contract management company Taj Techno faced allegations during proceedings. Workers claimed overtime dues remained unpaid fully.

They alleged overtime payments ignored the mandatory double-rate rule. However, labour officials reviewed the complaint during discussions.

Deputy Labour Commissioner Arvind Kumar chaired the hearing. Moreover, he directed management to calculate pending overtime dues.

He instructed officials to deposit the calculated amount promptly. The payment must reach the DLC office officially.

The office would then continue further legal procedures. Meanwhile, labour representatives attended the discussions.

Tata Power Mazdoor Union joined the hearing actively. Moreover, union general secretary Nigma Nand Pal attended proceedings.

Worker representative Sanjeev Prasad also remained present there. On the other hand, union leaders defended affected workers strongly.

Union vice-president Ambuj Kumar Thakur addressed the matter publicly. He also serves as AITUC state secretary.

He said the union would contact all affected workers. Moreover, documents would be submitted quickly before authorities.

“The workers must receive their rightful pending dues,” a union representative said. Meanwhile, union leaders promised continued legal efforts.

DLC Arvind Kumar also commented during the hearing. He stated repeated notices were already issued earlier.

According to officials, three hearings already took place previously. However, the department indicated a decision could arrive soon.

The case highlighted continuing concerns involving contract labour practices. Moreover, overtime disputes frequently reach labour authorities across Jamshedpur industries.
