Key Points:

  • ABVP Protested University Decision At Workers College
  • Students Raised Concerns Over Degree Completion
  • Memorandum Submitted Demanding Immediate Rollback

JAMSHEDPUR – ABVP workers protested against the decision to remove Arts and Science faculties from Workers College, warning that thousands of students would face academic uncertainty.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a protest at Workers College on Friday. Students raised slogans against the university administration during the demonstration.

Meanwhile, ABVP members opposed the decision of Kolhan University authorities. The university recently issued a notification regarding faculty restructuring.

The organisation claimed Arts and Science faculties would be removed permanently. Protesters said the move would affect thousands of enrolled students.

Moreover, ABVP leaders submitted a memorandum addressed to the Vice Chancellor. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the notification.

The student body described Workers College as a major institution in Jamshedpur. A large number of students currently study Arts and Science subjects there.

However, protesters questioned the future of existing undergraduate students. They asked how ongoing semesters and degree programmes would continue.

On the other hand, ABVP leaders raised concerns about multidisciplinary courses. They said students with major, minor and MDC subjects faced uncertainty.

Moreover, protesters alleged that stakeholders were ignored during restructuring discussions. They claimed neither parents nor social organisations were consulted.

The council also argued that other colleges retained all faculties. They described the selective removal at Workers College as discriminatory.

Meanwhile, student leaders warned of intensified protests in coming days. They said the agitation would continue without administrative intervention.

A large number of students and ABVP workers joined the protest. Security arrangements remained normal throughout the demonstration.
