JAMSHEDPUR – Armed extremists torched machinery and opened fire in Khunti’s Karra area, triggering panic among residents late at night.

Extremists launched the attack in the Karra region of Khunti district. They arrived late at night and targeted an ongoing construction site.

Meanwhile, the attackers set fire to a machine at the site. They also fired several rounds, spreading fear across nearby villages.

However, residents reported hearing continuous gunshots during the incident. The sudden violence left the area tense and unsettled.

Moreover, the attackers fled the scene soon after the assault. No immediate injuries were reported in the incident.

Police later recovered a leaflet from the site. It carried the name of banned group PLFI.

According to officials, extremist Amrit Horo claimed responsibility. He stated the attack was due to lack of prior communication.

In contrast, police teams reached the spot after receiving information. Security forces began a search operation across the region.

Meanwhile, authorities confirmed a detailed investigation is underway. They assured that those involved will be arrested soon.

Jharkhand has witnessed similar naxal-linked incidents in remote areas earlier. Such attacks often target infrastructure projects.

Moreover, nearby regions including Ranchi have seen intensified security measures recently. Officials continue to monitor extremist movements closely.

The incident has again raised concerns over safety arrangements. Local residents remain fearful following the late-night attack.
