Around 2,000 Flags to Mark Workers’ Day Across Jamshedpur

Key Points:

  • AITUC to install 2,000 flags across city areas
  • Mass rally planned from Barigora to Sakchi site
  • Leaders expect large worker turnout for event

JAMSHEDPUR – AITUC has begun large-scale preparations to mark May Day with a citywide rally and thousands of flags.

The Jamshedpur unit of AITUC has accelerated planning for May 1 celebrations. Around 2,000 flags will be installed across key locations.

Meanwhile, workers have started decorating several neighbourhoods with union flags. The aim is to give the day a historic scale.

On the other hand, volunteers are working continuously to complete arrangements. The effort includes mobilising workers and managing logistics.

A major rally will begin from Barigora on May Day. It will proceed towards Sakchi and conclude near Shaheed Sthal.

Moreover, thousands of workers are expected to participate in the march. Organisers said turnout could surpass previous years.

However, union leader Ambuj Thakur stated that special planning has been done this time. He added that preparations aim to make the rally historic.

Meanwhile, he said worker unity remains the central message of the event. The rally will highlight labour rights and collective strength.

In contrast, previous years saw smaller gatherings due to logistical limits. This year’s scale reflects renewed mobilisation efforts.

Moreover, May Day, observed globally, honours workers’ struggles and achievements. Trade unions use the occasion to press for labour rights.
