JAMSHEDPUR – Police recovered four cattle from a suspicious vehicle after the driver fled during a checking drive near Kapali on Friday morning.

Police conducted a special checking drive at Kamaragoda Chowk. Meanwhile, officers noticed a speeding white SUV approaching the point.

The vehicle was identified as a Mahindra XUV 7XO. However, the driver ignored signals to stop.

Meanwhile, the driver accelerated and tried to escape. Police teams immediately began chasing the vehicle.

After a brief pursuit, the driver abandoned the car. Moreover, he fled from the Demdubi area on foot.

Police seized the vehicle from the roadside. Meanwhile, a search revealed four cows inside.

The animals were found in poor condition. Moreover, they were tightly packed inside the vehicle.

All cattle were rescued safely by the team. Meanwhile, they were later sent to a nearby shelter.

Kapali OP in-charge Dheeranjan Kumar confirmed the recovery. However, he said the source and destination remain unclear.

Police have seized the vehicle for investigation. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify the owner and driver.

Such incidents have been reported earlier in the region. Moreover, similar cases surfaced in Bagbera and Sonari areas.

Police had arrested several accused in past operations. In contrast, this case is still under investigation.
