JAMSHEDPUR – A Hyva carrying stone chips burned completely after a sudden blaze on the Sawanadih main road in Potka.

The vehicle caught fire while moving along the route. However, the blaze spread quickly before any control attempt.

Meanwhile, witnesses reported that the fire started due to a possible short circuit. The flames soon engulfed the entire Hyva structure.

In addition, smoke rose high as the vehicle kept burning intensely. Fire crews rushed to the spot after receiving alerts.

Two firefighting units reached the location soon after the call. However, the responders faced intense heat while dousing the flames.

Potka police also arrived to assist at the site. Moreover, officers inspected the area for any further hazards.

A police source said the team initiated a technical examination. “We are checking the wiring and other parts,” the source said.

Besides this, similar fire incidents in the region have drawn attention recently. A past blaze involved Jugsalai areas where vehicles were damaged. Another earlier case was reported near Tatanagar station during peak evening hours.

Fire cases recorded earlier include a Sundernagar fire involving seized vehicles. Investigators had also handled an inspection vehicle blaze at Garhwa Road. Another case involved a car fire outside a railway gate. Moreover, officials earlier examined a Jugsalai car accident near Ghoda Chowk. Fire crews had also attended a Gamharia case involving a Tata Sumo. Further, district teams recorded a residential fire incident in the past. Officials also probed two vehicles set ablaze in another locality.
