JAMSHEDPUR – A suspicious envelope with a cartridge triggered panic at a Ranchi power station on Thursday.

The incident occurred at a power substation in Ranchi under Dhurwa police limits. Employees noticed an unattended envelope early morning.

However, the envelope carried alarming markings and symbols. It had words like “essential message” and “red salute” written.

Moreover, the name of banned outfit PLFI appeared on it. A live cartridge was also tied with the envelope.

Meanwhile, workers grew anxious after spotting the suspicious object. They immediately informed the local police station.

Soon after, Dhurwa police reached the site quickly. Officers secured the entire premises for safety.

Additionally, the envelope and cartridge were taken into custody. Officials began a detailed examination of the materials.

However, investigators are still verifying the origin of the envelope. They are checking whether extremists were actually involved.

On the other hand, police are also probing a prank possibility. Authorities suspect antisocial elements may be behind it.

Meanwhile, nearby individuals are being questioned by officers. Surveillance and entry points are also under scrutiny.

Moreover, PLFI has been active in parts of Jharkhand earlier. The group is known for threats and extortion activities.

However, no immediate threat has been confirmed yet. Police stated that all angles remain under investigation.
