JAMSHEDPUR – Dhanesh Shukla, 94, of Bistupur, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Adityapur-2 surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 21, 1931, in Kulharia, Bihar, to Dev Kumar Sharma and Sureshwari Devi. She completed her early education in Kulharia by 1945 and later married Late Dr. Ravindra Dutt Shukla, offering unwavering support as a homemaker.
Dhanesh Shukla is survived by her children — Usha, Kiran and Uday. Her grandchildren include Ravi, Nitin, Shashi, Priyanka, Aishwarya, and Vaibhav.
She was known as a deeply religious woman devoted to the principles of Sanatan Dharma. Moreover, she was admired for her impeccable health, boundless energy, and generosity.
During her youth, she contributed to the Indian freedom movement. In later years, she volunteered with local family planning organizations and offered help to cancer patients at hospitals in Jamshedpur.
A resident who knew her described her as “a rare soul who blended strength and kindness in every act of service.”
In addition to her charitable work, she was a talented Bhojpuri singer and master of regional proverbs. Her positive outlook and commitment to community welfare inspired many in Adityapur and Bistupur.
The shraddha ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by sah brahmabhoj at 7:30 p.m. on November 16, 2025, at 63 MIG Colony, Adityapur-2.
She is remembered as the mother of Dr. Mrs. Kiran Shukla, former Head of Botany at Kolhan University and Uday Shukla of Michigan, USA.
Her life remains an enduring example of devotion, discipline, and compassion — traits that will continue to guide generations within her family and community.
