JAMSHEDPUR – The Third IBFFF North Central Blind Football Zonal Championship will commence on November 1 at JRD Sports Complex.
A total of 14 teams will participate in the tournament. The event includes both men’s and women’s categories. The organizing committee held a press conference to announce details.
Jagannath Bahra addressed the media gathering. Sachin Singh also provided information about the championship. They explained the tournament format and schedule thoroughly.
The event runs from November 1 to 3. Six women’s teams have registered for the championship. Eight men’s teams will compete in their category. However, all teams comprise visually impaired players exclusively.
Players will demonstrate their skills using specialized equipment. The football contains bells that produce sound during play. Athletes rely on these auditory cues for navigation. Moreover, the unique format showcases exceptional talent and determination.
The JRD Sports Complex will host all matches. Facilities have been prepared for the three-day event. Organizers ensured accessibility standards throughout the venue.
“Blind football requires immense concentration and teamwork,” said Bahra. Players develop acute hearing abilities for the sport. They coordinate movements based solely on sound signals.
The championship follows IBFFF’s standard regulations. North Central zone teams will compete for top honors. Winners may advance to national-level competitions subsequently.
Local sports enthusiasts can attend the matches freely. The event aims to promote inclusivity in sports. Furthermore, it highlights abilities of differently-abled athletes effectively.
Organizers have arranged medical support at the venue. Trained volunteers will assist players during the tournament. Safety measures remain the top priority throughout.
