JAMSHEDPUR – The Kudmi community organized a grand Dahre Tusu Parab celebration on Sunday. The event aimed to preserve cultural traditions and heritage.

A massive rally started from late MP Sunil Mahato’s memorial in Gamharia. However, it proceeded through Adityapur Football Ground before reaching Sakchi Aam Bagan.

Young men, women and elderly participants performed traditional dances. Moreover, the procession moved to dhol-mandar rhythms throughout the route.

On the other hand, organizer Badal Mahato described Dahre Tusu as Jharkhandi cultural symbol. He explained the tradition begins before Tusu festival itself.

Meanwhile, people celebrate in fields welcoming new harvests with songs. In addition, the tradition now spreads from villages to cities.

Vijay Mahato, a prominent Kudmi leader from Khandra, addressed the gathering. Furthermore, hundreds of men and women joined the cultural preservation event.

Besides, women performed traditional dances to Kurmali music and DJ beats. The procession attracted enormous crowds along the entire route.

In contrast to regular celebrations, this rally showcased community unity. The event at Adityapur Football Ground witnessed enthusiastic participation.

Related celebrations include the Bistupur Tusu Mela, Galudiha tribal fair, and Sonari Domuhani gathering. Additionally, activists submitted demands for state festival status to the Governor.
