JAMSHEDPUR – In a creative initiative to boost voter participation, Gita Theatre has released a video called ‘Matdaan Re’ in the engaging format of a street play (Nukkad Natak).

The video is crafted with the aim to raise awareness among young voters about the importance of exercising their constitutional right to vote.

It emphasizes the profound responsibility of casting one’s vote for good governance and making a difference in the democratic process.

The play narratively depicts two laborers being tempted by a crafty politician with money to buy their votes.

However, the situation takes a turn when the narrator, played by the talented Prem Dixit, intervenes and encourages them to vote without fear or monetary motivations.

The video also sheds light on the process of obtaining voter ID cards and the simplicity of voting, dispelling myths and confusion.

Other actors contributing to the cause include Ria Sandil, Tushar Das Gupta, Samir Nandan, and Alok Kumar.

This innovative approach by Gita Theatre has been applauded by political analysts and social activists, as it connects with the audience on an emotional level and motivates them to be part of the electoral process.

Educational institutions and youth organizations are encouraged to share this video to spread the essential message of responsible and fearless voting.
