JAMSHEDPUR – An eight-year-old boy, Anshu Kumar from Kadma’s Shastri Nagar, was admitted to MGM Hospital after suffering facial burns from a firecracker explosion.
The accident took place on Thursday when Anshu was setting off firecrackers at his residence in Shastri Nagar, Block 4. According to witnesses, the firecracker unexpectedly exploded near him, causing facial burns. His family rushed him to MGM Hospital, where doctors are currently treating his injuries.
Reports indicate that on the same day, 13 people sought treatment at MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur for injuries related to firecracker incidents. Dr. Lalit Minj, Head of the Burn Unit, stated that fortunately, none of the cases required intensive care, and most patients were discharged after receiving first aid.
This year, anticipating Diwali-related burn cases, MGM Hospital prepared by reserving 15 beds. "Last year, 17 children required burn treatments during Diwali," noted Dr. Minj, explaining the hospital’s preventive steps this season to handle possible cases.
