  • Temple committee alleges work began without permission
  • Jusco stops work after rising objections from devotees

JAMSHEDPUR – Construction of a boundary wall at Sakchi’s Kachhari Baba Temple near the DC Office was halted on Friday after protests by local residents and the temple committee.

According to reports, Jusco, officially known as Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services, began the wall work in the temple premises. However, the temple committee alleged that the company started construction without prior permission or official notice.

Members of the committee stated that the land belongs to the temple and holds religious significance for the community. They maintained that any construction in the area requires approval from both the administration and the temple authorities.

Meanwhile, as word of the construction spread, several devotees and social activists gathered at the spot. The rising protest forced Jusco workers to stop the work immediately.

In addition, the committee members warned that any attempt to demarcate or build on temple land would be considered an act of encroachment. One local devotee remarked, “This temple is a symbol of our faith, and no construction can proceed here without the consent of the people.”
