South Eastern Railway Cancels Several Trains for Foggy Season

Winter Schedule Adjusted to Ensure Safety Amid Reduced Visibility

JAMSHEDPUR – The South Eastern Railway has announced temporary cancellation of several major trains to manage operations during the upcoming foggy season. The decision has been taken to ensure passenger safety and smooth traffic management amid reduced visibility during winter months.

According to the notification, the following trains will remain cancelled during the specified periods:

  • 12873 Hatia–Anand Vihar Express: from December 1, 2025, to February 26, 2026
  • 12874 Anand Vihar–Hatia Express: from December 2, 2025, to February 27, 2026
  • 22857 Santragachi–Anand Vihar Express: from December 1, 2025, to March 2, 2026
  • 22858 Anand Vihar–Santragachi Express: from December 2, 2025, to March 3, 2026
  • 18103 Tatanagar–Amritsar Express: from December 1, 2025, to February 25, 2026
  • 18104 Amritsar–Tatanagar Express: from December 3, 2025, to February 27, 2026

Railway officials stated that these cancellations are a precautionary measure due to dense fog expected across northern and eastern regions. “The safety of passengers is our foremost priority. We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate the understanding of travellers,” an official said.

Passengers are advised to check updated train schedules before planning their travel during this period. Normal operations will resume once visibility improves after February and early March 2026.
