JAMSHEDPUR – Kadma police arrested two men with illegal arms near Kharkhai river in Shastrinagar area following a tip-off and swift action by raiding team.

City SP Kumar Shivashish announced the arrests on Friday. He addressed a press conference at police headquarters. The operation took place in Block 4.

Police received specific information about armed suspects. Senior officers immediately formed a raiding team. The squad moved quickly to the location.

However, officers found two men in suspicious circumstances. Both were present on the riverbank. Police detained them for questioning.

Moreover, searches yielded illegal weapons and ammunition. One suspect carried a country-made iron pistol. The other had an 8mm live cartridge.

The accused were identified as Ravinath Machua and Ashish Machua. Both reside in Jayprakash Nagar. Their address is Block 5, Shastrinagar.

In addition, the duo shares a family relationship. They are uncle and nephew. Both operated together in the area.

The suspects used weapons to intimidate locals. They threatened residents regularly. Police had been tracking their activities.

Furthermore, Ravinath Machua has a criminal record. He served jail time previously. The charges involved illegal liquor sales.

City SP revealed more details about the operation. Officers acted on senior officials’ directions. The raid was part of anti-crime measures.

Police have registered cases against both accused. Investigation continues into their other activities. Officers are probing their weapon sources.
