JAMSHEDPUR – A major theft shocked Golmuri on Wednesday when miscreants looted cash and jewelry worth ₹10 lakh from a businessman’s flat at Mahendra Apartment.
According to reports, flat number 203 belonging to businessman Rishabh Singh was targeted. Singh said he had gone with his family to his workshop to perform rituals on Vishwakarma Puja. When they returned, they found the main door broken.
Inside, locks on four cupboards had also been forced open. On checking, Singh discovered that jewelry worth around ₹8 lakh and cash of nearly ₹2 lakh were missing.
Meanwhile, Golmuri police arrived soon after receiving information. Officers began their investigation and collected initial details from the scene.
The theft has created an atmosphere of fear among local residents. Neighbors expressed concern about security lapses and rising incidents of burglary in the area.
Police officials confirmed that inquiries are underway, but no suspects have yet been identified.
