Seraikela – Superintendent of Police Mukesh Lunayat disclosed the arrest of two bike theft gang members and recovery of six stolen motorcycles.
He said that repeated thefts in Nimdih police station area led to formation of a special team. The arrested included Rakesh Kondakel of Chhota Fodlogo village in Chandil and a minor.
Based on their input, police seized two motorcycles stolen on August 13 and 22 near Bank of India in Raghunathpur market. In addition, four other bikes stolen from Jamshedpur areas were also recovered.
The SP said the gang used to sell the stolen bikes in Jamshedpur for ₹10,000–15,000 each.
The operation was led by Nimdih police station in-charge Santan Kumar Tiwari and Kapali station in-charge Dheeranjan Kumar. Other team members included SI Ranjit Kumar Singh, ASI Pankaj Kumar Shukla, Nalin Kumar, and constable Vipul Kumar Tiwari.
