Jharkhand Cabinet Approves Health Insurance for State Employees

Rs 5 Lakh Annual Coverage for Common Illnesses, Rs 10 Lakh for Critical Cases

RANCHI – The Jharkhand cabinet approved a comprehensive health insurance policy for state employees and pensioners on Tuesday.

Tata AIG General Insurance Company will implement the scheme. The policy offers coverage up to Rs 5 lakh for common illnesses.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries will receive Rs 10 lakh coverage for critical illnesses. The scheme requires Rs 6,000 annual premium from each participant.

Moreover, about two lakh employees and pensioners have registered. The government allocated Rs 150 crore for implementation.

Healthcare Initiatives

The cabinet approved new paramedical district-level cadre rules. These guidelines will streamline recruitment processes.

Additionally, senior hospital management positions will be created. These posts will strengthen medical colleges and district hospitals.

Furthermore, the Jharkhand Aarogya Society will manage Rs 50 crore. This amount serves as buffer stock for the scheme.

Law Enforcement and Education

The Home Department received approval for police initiatives. Investigating officers will receive mobile phones worth Rs 25,000.

Meanwhile, computer education gets significant boost. The government allocated Rs 94.5 crore for secondary schools.

Legal and Administrative Decisions

The cabinet approved Rs 12.10 crore for advocate welfare. A special narcotics court will be established in Chatra.

Additionally, KK Verma’s tenure as Transmission Corporation MD extends. He will serve until December 31, 2025.
