Police Raid in Mango Unearths Illicit Liquor Trade

JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on a tip-off, Mango Police raided Chatai Colony in Devvila on Monday evening. During the operation, they arrested Tapas Namta, also known as Tapas Lohar, for illegally trading mahua liquor.

The raid led to the seizure of 17 liters of mahua liquor. Police revealed that Tapas had been involved in this illegal trade for years, but this was the first time he was caught red-handed.

Raid and Arrest Details

The police operation aimed to curb the increasing trade of illicit liquor in the area. The raid, led by ASI Formisius Kujur, targeted Devvila in Chatai Colony. According to officials, Tapas was caught while conducting a sale.

Legal Actions Underway

A case has been registered against Tapas under applicable laws for selling illicit liquor. Mango Police are continuing investigations to uncover the extent of his operations and potential accomplices.

Accused’s Background

Preliminary investigations indicate that Tapas has been a long-time participant in the illegal liquor trade. However, this is the first time authorities have managed to apprehend him.
