JAMSHEDPUR – Raghubar Das, former Governor of Odisha and ex-Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has re-entered active politics by rejoining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Following a membership ceremony held at the state BJP headquarters in Ranchi, Das returned to his residence in Agrico, Jamshedpur, on Sunday, where he received a warm welcome from party workers and supporters.

Speaking to the media, Das expressed gratitude to the people of Jamshedpur, crediting them for his journey from a worker to a political leader. “I salute the people of Jamshedpur who supported me throughout my career. Their unwavering faith has always inspired me,” he remarked. He also shared his excitement upon meeting old colleagues, describing the moment as nostalgic.

Message for Jharkhand’s Government

Addressing the performance of Jharkhand’s new INDI coalition government, Das emphasized the need for the administration to deliver on promises made to the public. “The coalition has received a significant mandate from the people of Jharkhand. They must honor their commitments. If they fail, the opposition will act to protect public interests,” he stated, highlighting the BJP’s readiness to challenge unfulfilled promises through active opposition.

The enthusiasm of the party workers in Jamshedpur added to Das’s renewed energy and commitment. Das’s return has sparked discussions among political circles regarding his potential influence in the state’s political landscape.
