JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) successfully facilitated job placements for 27 aspirants from Jharkhand during a recent placement drive held at the West Bokaro Division. The event, organized in collaboration with the Model Career Centre (MCC), Jamshedpur, aimed to connect youth from underserved communities with employment opportunities.
Job Opportunities Across India
Out of 50 candidates who participated, 27 were selected for positions in leading companies. Six candidates secured jobs at MRF Tyres in Bharuch, Gujarat, 16 at MRF Tyres in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and five girls were placed at Schneider Electric in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Structured Counselling Drives Participation
TSF introduced pre-placement counselling sessions to address challenges like reluctance to migrate and unfamiliarity with industry expectations. These sessions, moderated by HR personnel, have significantly improved youth participation and motivation. The initiative targets candidates aged 18-35, focusing on those from last-mile communities with a minimum qualification of Class 10.
Successful Placement Outcomes
During FY24, six placement drives were conducted across panchayats, with 763 candidates attending counselling sessions, including 274 women. Of the 416 candidates interviewed, 85 secured jobs in reputed companies such as Wistron Electronics, Schneider, and MAT Foundry.
Babita Kumari, one of the successful candidates, expressed her gratitude, saying, “This opportunity has transformed my life, providing stability and purpose alongside a supportive work environment.”
Transforming Lives Through Employment
The placement drives serve as a vital platform for youth to begin their professional journeys, reducing unemployment and empowering communities with opportunities for growth and development.
