JAMSHEDPUR – A youth, identified as Suraj Paramanik, was shot dead behind Carmel School in Jamshedpur’s Sonari area, creating panic in the locality. The incident occurred while Suraj was seated in his parked auto.

According to police, Suraj, who had left Sonari a decade ago due to gang-related threats and shifted to Parsudih, had recently resumed visiting the area. On the fateful day, criminals approached him while he was resting on his auto and opened fire. Suraj attempted to flee but was pursued and shot, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and began their investigation. Suraj’s body was sent for post-mortem examination. While an old gang rivalry is suspected as the motive, police are exploring all possible leads.

Suraj had moved away from Sonari due to the prevalence of gang wars. His return to the area after years raised questions, and police are probing if his murder is linked to renewed hostilities.
