JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested three individuals including two medical store owners for operating a drug racket, seizing intoxicants worth ₹25 lakh.

SSP Kishore Kaushal announced the arrests. The suspects failed to produce purchase documentation.

Meanwhile, police formed a special task force. The team investigated rising crime rates linked to drug abuse.

Investigation Details

The accused sourced drugs from Calcutta. Police raided Maa Vaibhav Medical Stores following leads.

Moreover, searches extended to multiple locations. Officers found drugs at a residence and auto parts godown.

Enforcement Action

Brothers Umesh and Rajkumar Gupta faced arrest. Their associate Sonu Pandey was also detained.

Furthermore, all three were sent to Ghaghidih jail. Similar operations will continue against drug networks.

“This is just the beginning of our crackdown,” stated SSP Kaushal. The police plan additional anti-drug initiatives.
