JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Archery Academy’s (TAA) Ankita Bhakat has secured her spot in the Gold medal match of the Senior National (Men & Women) Archery Championship. She will go head-to-head against former TAA cadet and Olympian Deepika Kumari tomorrow.

The ongoing championship, organized by the Jharkhand Archery Association in partnership with the Archery Association of India, NTPC, and Tata Steel, brings together the nation’s finest archers. The event highlights talent and fosters competitive spirit among India’s top archers.

Elimination Rounds Highlight TAA’s Excellence

The elimination rounds in the women’s recurve category kicked off today with 64 archers competing for top honors. Ankita delivered an exceptional performance, showcasing her precision and determination.

Other TAA athletes, including Bhajan Kaur and Komalika Bari, also put forth commendable efforts during the elimination stages, further reinforcing the academy’s legacy of excellence.

Prize Distribution Ceremony

The day also witnessed the prize distribution for the Indian Round and Compound Archery events. Dignitaries present at the event included Shri Arjun Munda, President of the Archery Association of India, and Padma Shri awardee Purnima Mahato, Head Coach of Tata Archery Academy. Also in attendance were Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports at Tata Steel, and Hemant Gupta, Head of Sports Academies and Adventure Programmes at Tata Steel.
