JAMSHEDPUR – A major vehicle inspection drive across Sakchi, Bistupur, and Jugsalai resulted in the seizure of eight vehicles and collection of hefty fines on Wednesday.
Motor Vehicle Inspector Suraj Hembram led the inspection campaign. The team seized two 407 trucks and six auto-rickshaws for documentation irregularities.
Enforcement Actions
Five vehicles were impounded at Jugsalai police station. Meanwhile, three vehicles were kept at Sakchi police station.
The authorities imposed online fines totaling approximately Rs 57,000 on ten vehicles. The drive focused on commercial passenger vehicles.
Documentation Requirements
Officials thoroughly checked fitness permits and insurance papers. Additionally, they verified pollution certificates and tax documents.
“All vehicle owners must maintain updated documentation,” warned a senior transport official. The department has mandated proper dress code for bus and auto drivers.
Future Compliance
The inspection drive follows directives from Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal. Transport officials will continue regular checks across the city.
