JAMSHEDPUR – Three railway divisions announced major service disruptions starting December 16, affecting multiple trains due to ongoing development works across Eastern Railway sections.
Chakradharpur Division leads service changes. Five trains face cancellation on December 17.
“These disruptions enable critical infrastructure improvements,” noted a railway official.
Major Route Changes
The Howrah-Mumbai Duronto faces rescheduling. Its departure shifts to 10:45 AM on December 17.
Meanwhile, MEMU services see significant impacts. Several routes face short-termination at Adra.
“Alternative travel arrangements are being suggested,” explained a railway representative.
Impact on Long-Distance Trains
The Howrah-Kantabanji Express stands cancelled. The Falaknuma Express faces schedule changes.
Moreover, the Simlipal Express services get affected. Both up and down trains face cancellation.
“Development works are necessary for service improvement,” remarked a senior railway officer.
